Drillco end mill is made of cobalt steel which is similar to high-speed steel, but with more cobalt for improved performance when cutting harder metals such as stainless steel or nickel alloys. The greater red hardness of M-42 Cobalt enables this tool to run about 10 percent faster than conventional HSS end mill. This translates to shorter machining times and permits fuller utilization of available machine horsepower. While Cobalt end mill is initially more expensive than HSS, it retain his sharpness for longer, providing more cuts between grinds and less machine downtime, resulting in lower end mill tooling cost. Uncoated tool feature just the base substrate without any additional treatment or coating and is suitable for a wide range of application. Weldon shank feature a round shank with one of more flat machined into the side for easy indexing and alignment. When run in a counterclockwise direction (right-hand cut) spiral fluted tool evacuate chips up and out of the cut to reduce clogging.
